What is the FA2? The FA2 is an iris and face camera that is a complete multimodal biometric peripheral for Windows CE, XP & Vista and Linux OS platforms. It uses the highest quality state of the art digital imaging technology to provide a superior biometric imaging solution. Iris capturing features include top of the line CMOS sensor for ISO/IEC 19794-6 compliant VGA images (640x480), custom optics, multi wavelength IR illumination, tricolor RGB LED indicators, proprietary distance sensing and accurate focus analysis providing auto acquire capabilities..
Why do I need it? Biometric IRIS recognition system is the most accurate biometric method exist today with the lowest EER, FAR & FRR. It has a highest Universality, Uniqueness , Permanence, Collectability, Performance & Circumvention among all other biometric methods. How does it work? The FA2 authenticates users by using either their iris or face. The FA2 captures the image of the Iris and the face in a very high resolution, transfers it to the dedicated matching algorithm (not included in the FA2), which analyze it according to pre-configured security parameters, and provide a matching score. The FA2 is the facilitator and the image creator for the matchers. Who uses it? Developers and manufacturers can mount the FA2 into a wide range of USB-compliant systems, including special purpose terminals (payment, POS, clearance), mobile and stationary registration stations, and information kiosks established in protected environments.
